Reflections on a year in 365 photographs

The Artist

A young artist works her charcoal in the warm afternoon glow at Hampton Park.  I stopped by the park to get some images of the Azaleas in bloom all over the park.  When I got to the park I noted all of the people out enjoying the beautiful afternoon.  I even ran into some friends out for a walk.  When I saw this girl I stopped and watched her for a while as she focused intently on her work.  It reminded me of one of the reasons I’m enjoying this 365 project so much.  Just taking time to notice and immerse myself in the creative moment has helped me connect with the world in new ways.  Doing it day after day reinforces my eye for the graceful wonder around me.
