Camera Gear *Updated 9/23*
I hope to make this project more about the images than the equipment, but I know that some of you will be interested in what is required to do the sorts of photographs you see here. So here is a quick list of the equipment I use. I hope to add to it throughout the year as I try new techniques.

I have bags full of older camera gear, including EOS 55 and Nikon F90 film bodies, but I don’t anticipate using them for the project. And like most males, I’m cursed with the gear geekery gene which compels me to lust after the latest and greatest equipment. Sure, I’d love a Canon 5D Mk II with its 1080p HD video capability. And in a perfect world I’d also have an EF 85mm f1.8, EF 70-200mm f2.8, a dozen strobes and RF trigger systems, as well as access to a large studio, etc. But that’s not what this project is about. Its about making great images with the best camera…the one in my hand!

hey Brian, I am getting ready to buy a new camera, any tips for me I have been thinking about a nikon coolpix L110 but you seem to like canon I don’t want anything toooo exspensive but I want something easy to use that takes good pics I love your sunrise picture
